Weather expert forecasts conditions for 2023 apple crop

The U.S. Apple Association is presenting a webinar featuring weather expert Drew Lerner and his outlook on this year’s weather and how it could affect the apple crop.

The webinar, scheduled for 45 minutes, begins at 3 p.m. March 23. Registration is online.

USApple featured Lerner at its 2021 Crop Outlook Conference, and received many positive reviews.

“This time, his predictions for the spring bloom and into the summer will be of even greater value with his views on the potential for weather events and trends that might impact 2023 apple production,” according to a news release from the association.

Lerner is senior agricultural meteorologist and president of World Weather Inc. For 43 years, he has been forecasting international weather for agriculture, supporting the industry by providing detailed short- and long-range weather predictions to support companies wanting to make better decisions.
