Annual Michigan fruit crop ‘Guesstimate’ won’t be held

The Michigan Frozen Foods Processors Association (MFFPA) has announced the annual “Guesstimate” will not be held in June 2017 as normally scheduled. The MFFPA has long provided networking opportunities for Michigan based companies while offering annual university scholarships for worthy students in order to help offset the soaring costs of education.

MFFPA President Andy Janson made the announcement in a news release, saying, “The MFFPA understands the need to stay relevant in our rapidly changing business environment. As a result, the leaders of this volunteer based organization are taking time to review, reset, and refocus.

“Historically, the annual Guesstimate provides crop updates for Michigan-based processors as well as a platform for sharing national growing forecasts for various crops,” said Janson, president of Hanson Logistics, based in St. Joseph, Michigan. “Since the Guesstimate has been so well supported and attended, the MFFPA would like to continue making this event a draw for all members and guests. As the organization considers ways to keep this event current and applicable for Michigan based businesses, we welcome your thoughts as to what is important to you and your organization.

“We wish all our members great business success this year and please look forward to updates from the MFFPA regarding our plans for future events.”
