Mar 26, 2025Michigan Apple Committee celebrates National Ag Week
Marking National Ag Week, the Michigan Apple Committee (MAC) sponsored an event at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

The late-March event celebrated National Ag Week. In marking the event, MAC supported the consumption of Michigan apples while noting the vital role of agriculture in the U.S.
The Children’s Museum event was the first event in the multi-event partnership between MAC and the museum. The museum is the world’s largest children’s museum. A partnership of this type is designed to help inform children and their parents about the benefits of eating Michigan apples, according to a news release.
As part of MAC’s work to boost consumer marketing and increase consumption of Michigan apples, MAC has expanded the number of planned consumer events from eight to 22 for 2025.
The family-friendly, health-focused events are a great way to enjoy face-to-face interaction with MAC’s target audience, which supports the messaging MAC communicates online, according to the release.
“These types of events are what helps boost brand awareness to the consumer,” Diane Smith, MAC’s executive director, said in the release. “We have more than doubled the number of planned events from last year, which was one of our goals for 2025.”
More events are planned, including those in Detroit, Indianapolis and Chicago. The events are designed to help reach the target markets of Michigan apples.
The Michigan Apple Committee is a grower-funded nonprofit organization devoted to marketing, education and research activities to distinguish the Michigan apple and encourage its consumption in Michigan and around the world.
