IFTA sees Ontario’s offerings

The International Fruit Tree Association held its Summer Study Tour based out of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, from July 21-24. Visited were two of Ontario’s five main tree fruit growing regions, the Norfolk and Georgian Bay regions. The province’s major apple-producing areas in Ontario are spread along the shores of Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. These large, deep bodies of water help moderate temperatures, which makes Ontario an ideal place to grow apples. Photos: Gary Pullano, FGN Managing Editor
