Cherry Industry Administrative Board seeking nominees

The Cherry Industry Administrative Board (CIAB ) reminds tart cherry growers nominations for industry leadership positions are due soon.

The board election process began the week of Jan. 2. Nomination forms were emailed or mailed to eligible growers and handlers. Nominations are due to the CIAB office by 5:00 p.m. EST, on Jan. 17, according to a news release.

Currently the CIAB is seeking nominations for member positions in eight districts.

Handler members:

  • District 1 – Northern Michigan
  • District 2 – Central Michigan
  • District 7 – Utah
  • District 9 – Wisconsin

Grower members:

  • District 3 – Southern Michigan
  • District 8 – Washington

At-Large Members

  • District 5 – Oregon
  • District 6 – Pennsylvania

The CIAB is the administrative arm of the Federal Marketing Order for tart cherries in the U.S.
Since 1997, the CIAB has educated consumers about the taste and benefits of consuming tart cherries.
