NABC to honor industry leaders with Hall of Fame Award

The North American Blueberry Council (NABC) has a new recognition to honor and celebrate blueberry leaders, growers and suppliers.

The NABC Hall of Fame Award recognizes accomplishments of those who move the industry forward, and selection is based on leadership, collaboration, industry support, longevity and innovation. The award joins the Duke Galletta Award and the Alex Wetherbee Award in honoring exceptional industry leaders, according to the NABC.

The NABC Awards Committee will select the Hall of Fame Award honoree about 45 days before the event, to ensure the chosen recipient will be able to attend the awards ceremony.

The NABC provides examples of qualities the award will honor:
• Influencer — A strong presence in the industry, both as a leader and as a mentor.
• Innovator — Responsible for a major breakthrough in the industry’s prominence, relevance or success.
• Pioneer — In production, marketing or health research.
• Volunteer leadership — Years of dedicated service to the industry and a collaborative nature, with specific exceptional examples or traits cited.

Nomination forms can be filled out online, and are due July 14 for all three NABC awards.
