Rice Fruit’s Lemonade apples offer splash of yellow

Rice Fruit Co., Gardeners, Pennsylvania, is kicking off Lemonade apple packing this season with increased volume due to recent plantings coming into production.

“We’re super excited to offer an apple that’s fresh and bright, but most importantly, delicious,” Jill Hughey, director of sales, said in a news release. “The packaging offers an eye-catching contrast

that really pops on the store shelves, and the eating quality is excellent.”

Lemonade is a cross between a Gala and Braeburn, giving the apple its crunchy effervescence paired with a blushing cheek. It’s the perfect color break in the
sea of red currently dominating retail shelves, according to the release.
