Michigan Farm Bureau focuses on stopping new child labor rules

Proposed federal restrictions on child farm workers and the proposed New International Trade Crossing are among top issues the Michigan Farm Bureau will focus on as 488 delegates vote at DeVos Place this week.

The bureau will consider 148 resolutions on national and state policies affecting agriculture – everything from wildlife management to immigration.

Considering that 95 percent of the candidates endorsed by the bureau’s political action committee in 2010 were elected to state office, the resolutions may get attention. The Grand Rapids Press
