Apples drop from the sky in England

Rush hour on a road in the English Midlands was complicated Wednesday by an actual windfall — a freak shower of windblown apples.

Police said about 100 pieces of fruit dropped from the sky in a few minutes in Keresley outside Coventry, the Daily Star reported. Britain has been hit by storms this week, and meteorologists said the apples were probably lying on the ground in an orchard when a freak wind picked them up and carried them to Keresley. UPI.com
