Field trials confirm efficacy of Delegate WG insecticide

Field trials conducted by Cornell University in 2015 reinforce the effective control of Delegate WG insecticide in combating troublesome pome fruit pests. Whether sprayed alone or tank-mixed, the study shows that Delegate provides consistent control of several fruit-damaging pests, including codling moth, Oriental fruit moth and lesser appleworm in apple orchards.

The results confirm that the level of control of obliquebanded leafroller provided by Delegate classified it as one of the best treatments tested with virtually no injury to terminals and less than 2 percent pest-inflicted injury to fruit, Dow AgroSciences said in a news release.

A related study conducted in 2015 by the New England Fruit Consultants further validates results from the Cornell trials. The study shows applications of Delegate WG insecticide on pome fruit provided quick and effective control of obliquebanded leafrollers with little or no injury to terminals or fruit.

As a Group 5 insecticide, Delegate contains the active ingredient spinetoram. The product has minimal impact on beneficial insects and a short four-hour re-entry interval, according to Dow AgroSciences.
