Fresh apple holdings at 143.3 million bushels

U.S. Apple Association has released its November Market News, including the first report on the 2017 apple crop.

According to the survey, U.S. fresh-market apple holdings of 143.3 million bushels on Nov. 1, 2017, are 6 percent more than the Nov. 1, 2016 holdings of 134.7 million bushels, and 15 percent more than the five-year average of 125.1 million bushels.

Total processing apple holdings as of Nov. 1, were 51.1 million bushels, 12 percent more than those on Nov. 1, 2016, and 17 percent more than the five-year average for that date.

The data was compiled by Mark Seetin, USApple’s director of regulatory and industry affairs.
