February’s fresh apple holdings down

American fresh apple holdings are down from 12 months ago, according to the U.S. Apple Association (USApple).

The association wrote in a newsletter that fresh-market apple holdings were at 78.9 million bushels at the start of February – 12 percent less than the February 1, 2018 holdings of 90.0 million bushels. The current year’s level was also seven percent less than the five-year average of 84.6 million bushels.

Total apple holdings were 30 million bushels, 14 percent less than 12 months ago, and 13 percent less than the five-year average, USApple wrote.
