US fresh fresh apple holdings on Feb. 1 reported 12% higher than last year

The U.S. Apple Association released its February 2020 edition of Market News. 

This is the fourth report on the 2019 apple crop. According to the survey prepared by Mark Seetin, USApple’s director of regulatory and industry affairs, this year’s fresh apple holdings on Feb. 1, 2020, totaled 87.9 million bushels, 12% greater than the inventories reported for Feb. 1 of last year. 

Processing holdings totaled 34.9 million bushels; 20% greater than last year on Feb. 1. The total number of apples in storage on Feb. 1, 2020, was 122.8 million bushels, 14% greater than last February’s total of 107.4 million bushels and 4%  above the 5-year average for that date.
