Michigan SWD webinar series for growers of cherries, berries and grapes

The Michigan State Univesity Fruit Team is pleased to announce SWD Fridays!, a series of webinars geared specifically toward providing fruit growers with spotted wing drosophila information.

This series begins Friday, June 19 at 12 p.m., and will be held every Friday through Aug. 14, 2020.

Each webinar will feature a 10-minute statewide update on the status of spotted wing drosophila activity in susceptible fruit crops followed by a special topic, and time for questions. Special topics presented by the Michigan State University (MSU) Fruit Team and invited speakers will be brief and include discussions on 2020 management considerations in cherry and berry crops, sampling fruit for SWD, biological control,and the role of drosophila flies in grape sour rot.

Registration for this meeting is free and required. Growers only need to register once to attend any individual webinars or all of them.
