“A Virtual Field Tour: Pear Rootstocks and Systems for Today and Tomorrow,” will be held Friday, Aug. 14, 10 a.m.– 11:30 a.m. PDT, by Washington State University Tree Fruit Extension, Michigan State University and the Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission.
Learn how to plant pear blocks that can pay for themselves within eight years.
Join up for a tour of a pear rootstock research trial featuring a number of quince selections that show promise in Pacific Northwest conditions. Event organizers will also showcase an existing high-density commercial bi-axis Bartlett block that will be picking a significant crop this year in its fourth leaf.
The webinar will feature pre-recorded video demonstrations, live presentation of research results and live Q&A where participants can ask questions in real-time to the scientists and growers featured during the broadcast.
Speakers will include Troy Schmidt, Washington State Tree Fruit Commission; Stefano Musacchi, Washington State University, and Todd Einhorn of Michigan State Unversity
