Total number of apples in storage on Nov. 1: 154.9M bushels, down 4.7%

Christopher Gerlach, director, industry analytics, for the U.S. Apple Association, has released the November 2021 USApple Tracker survey results.

According to the survey, the total number of apples in storage on Nov.  1, 2021, was 154.9 million bushels, 4.7% less than last November’s total of 162.6 million bushels and 9.1% less the 5-year average for that date.

Fresh apple holdings this November, totaled 109.2 million bushels, 7.1% less than the inventories reported for last November. Processing holdings totaled 45.7 million bushels, 1.7% more than last year on Nov. 1.

This report captures more than 95% of the national storage capacity.
