Michigan State University Extension representatives will discuss their latest research at the MSU Extension Tree Fruit Field Day.
The event is from 1:30 to 5:15 p.m. Nov. 1 at the West Michigan Research Station, in Hart, Michigan.
The event is free, but participants are asked to register online.
Information on alternative trellis materials being tested in the research station’s demonstration plot, updates on controlling cherry leaf spot and borer research on stone fruit will be presented. Attendees will also hear about the current uses for the cooler rooms at the station and learn about strategies to deal with farm stress.
Walking tours will give attendees up close visuals of research, and after the educational program, they can sample apple varieties and cider.
