Elite Apple, a new $7 million, 60,000-square-foot apple processing and packaging facility in Sparta, Mich. is running seven days a week to accommodate a large Michigan apple crop. A group of seven area growers on “The Ridge” in northwest Kent county are partners in the project that opened Aug. 15.
