Removing unmanaged apple and pear trees

Acreage of pear orchards in Lake County has declined steadily from an historical high of over 8,000 acres in 1977 to just over 2,200 acres today. This indicates how difficult it is to make a living growing the county’s most famous fruit. Lake County News
