Fresh-market apple holdings down from last year

U.S. fresh-market apple holdings were 54 million bushels on March 1, 3 percent less than 2010 holdings but 2 percent more than the five-year average, according to the U.S. Apple Association.

Total processing apple holdings on March 1 were 26.5 million bushels, 9 percent above last year and 4 percent above the five-year average, according to USApple.
