Adama tells winning retailers who will share $35,000 in community donations

Adama US, a global crop protection company, announced May 6 the winners of its expanded “Thank a Retailer” program for ag retailers and farmers, which started as a pilot program in the Pacific Northwest in 2020. This year, ag retailers in 36 states had the chance to win a charity donation for a local nonprofit of their choice.

The six winning ag retailers are as follows:

• Gar Bennett out of Reedley, CA won $18,000 (#1 in both regional and national competitions)
• GreenPoint Ag Solutions out of Ocilla, GA won $7,000 (#2 in national)
• Mid-South Farmers Co-op out of Brownsville, TN won $3,000
• Deep South Farm Center out of Douglas, GA won $3,000
• LMG Ag Products out of Tulare, CA won $2,000
• Nutrien Ag Solutions out of Elton, LA won $2,000

“Farming is tough and requires a great retailer partner. Rural communities are the backbone of America, and we want to help keep these communities remain strong,” Brent Marek, Adama national sales manager, said in a news release. “Through this program, Adama is giving back to communities through retailers who play such an essential role in supporting growers and connecting communities. We want to honor their hard work. Thank you to all who participated and congratulations to the winners.”

From March 1-23, 2021, farmer-growers in the Western as well as the Eastern and Southern U.S. were invited to visit ThankARetailer.adama.com to vote for their favorite regional ag retailer. The top-two vote getting ag retail businesses in each of the three regions won either a $3,000 or a $2,000 donation, respectively, for the charity of their choice.

Raising the stakes even further, each of the first- and second-place regional winners moved onto the national competition which ran from March 29-April 30. Growers again had a chance to vote for their favorite ag retailer and community at large. At the national level, the first-place ag retailer won a $15,000 donation to a local nonprofit, and the second-place winner received $5,000 for their local charity of choice.
