AgBiome hires four strategic leaders

AgBiome, developer of innovative products from the Earth’s microbial communities, has hired four strategic leaders across its organization. All appointed in recent weeks, these leaders bring significant experience in their respective fields and represent a new stage of growth for AgBiome.

“These outstanding individuals are joining our company at a time of rapid growth as we see mounting demand for our unique innovations,” said Scott Uknes, co-CEO of AgBiome. “Each will play an integral part in this critical growth phase as we launch new products to the market and continue to build on our one-of-a-kind biological platform. Chris, Tim, Laura and Rick are not just great leaders, they also share the vision for AgBiome and believe in our unique human-centric culture.”

Chris Matton has been appointed general counsel to oversee and provide support and counsel for AgBiome’s corporate and legal matters. Matton has 25 years of legal experience with companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500, serving as general counsel in the software industry and a partner at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP.

Tim Meigs joins AgBiome as chief intellectual property counsel, bringing almost 30 years of experience practicing intellectual property law, largely in the agricultural biotechnology and life sciences industries. Meigs will advise on all legal matters related to AgBiome’s intellectual property including patents, trademarks, and proprietary products and platforms.

Laura Potter is now data science leader at AgBiome where she will drive AgBiome’s data science strategy and lead a fast-growing team of data scientists. She joins AgBiome following more than 20 years of computational science experience in agriculture and pharma, including 10 years leading global teams. Most recently, she served as global head of analytics and data sciences at Syngenta.

Rick Bartschi joins AgBiome as the company’s first chief technology officer where he will be responsible for executing global IT strategy and advancing the technology platform. Bartschi brings more than 20 years of experience in technology leadership roles with Myriad Genetics, helping to grow the biotech startup into a global market leader.

“By continuing to bring experienced leaders like these into our organization, we are securing AgBiome’s place on the leading edge of biological technology,” said Toni Bucci, chief operating officer for AgBiome. “We look forward to continuing to build a team of unmatched talent to help execute our mission of enhancing the global agroecosystem.”
