At the 25th edition of Fruit Attraction, TOMRA Food unveiled its latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technology and introduced a new regional structure, highlighted by its headquarters in Valencia.
The event, held from Oct. 8-10, attracted key players from the global fruit and vegetable sector.

TOMRA’s LUCAi AI solution, a sorting system for blueberries, apples and cherries, will also expand to the citrus category.
The LUCAi system, built on deep learning technology, enhances sorting accuracy by analyzing complex image patterns. With over 500 processing lanes already powered by LUCAi, TOMRA’s aim is to improve performance and batch quality.
The company also emphasized the importance of its new Valencia headquarters.
“This facility enables us to engage with our customers on a local level and provide direct support,” said del Castillo.
TOMRA’s regional organization is designed to strengthen customer proximity and improve service response times.
In addition to AI solutions, TOMRA highlighted its TOMRA 5A sorting machine, which offers efficient detection of defects and foreign materials in large volumes of produce, including potatoes, carrots and citrus fruits.
