Michigan ag official in China: dried fruit and other foods provide export opportunities

China could ripen into a key market for Michigan farmers and food producers looking to grow their businesses.

China’s expanding middle class is creating a surge in buying power and an increased appetite for American consumer goods and food products.
The prospects haven’t gone unnoticed by Jamie Clover Adams, director of Michigan’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

She joined Gov. Rick Snyder on his 10-day investment mission to China. Clover Adams has met with government and business officials to identify market opportunities for exporting Michigan fruits, vegetables, crops and other agricultural and food products. MLIVE
