Purdue Extension presents pruning demonstrations

Purdue Extension specialists are presenting a demonstration of pruning grapes, apples, peaches and brambles.

The fruit pruning workshop is set for 1-4 p.m. Eastern March 1, at the Meigs Horticulture Research Farm at 9101 S. 100 East in Lafayette, Indiana. The workshop is free, but has limited space, so registration is required. Registration is online.

Participants will learn best management practices for pruning, with hands-on experience. The session will cover the first steps on balancing grape vines through dormant pruning and learn about pruning apples on dwarf and semi-dwarf rootstocks.

A snow/rain date will be 1-4 p.m. March 8.
