AgBiome receives designation as Certified B Corporation

AgBiome, Inc., an agricultural innovator dedicated to improving the world through microbial solutions, has been named a Certified B Corporation, or B Corp.

AgBiome is among the first agricultural biotech organizations, and the only one with two Environmental Protection Agency-registered products – Howler fungicide and Theia fungicide – to earn this honor. The company joins more than 5,000 B Corps across 70 countries and 150 industries worldwide.

“As a company dedicated to the health of people and the planet, we are thrilled to be recognized as a B Corp,” said Eric Ward, co-CEO of AgBiome. “The B Corp certification process holds us to high standards in how we treat our employees, customers, and suppliers, and how our products affect the environment. We’re proud to be leading the way in our industry by meeting these standards and committing to being an even better company as our business grows.”

This award comes from B Lab, a nonprofit network committed to improving the global economy for the benefit of people, communities and the planet. B Corp certifications are reserved for companies that demonstrate the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. Companies are evaluated on categories from employee benefits and charitable contributions to supply chain practices and input materials. Certifications are reevaluated every three years to ensure their continuous improvement.

AgBiome completed the requirements for the B Corp certification in collaboration with NC State University’s B Corp Clinic, a program developed to connect graduate students to aspiring B Corps. The B Corp Clinic focuses on helping companies assess their social and environmental impacts based on B Corp requirements.
