Penn State Extension to host Communicating With Farmers Under Stress webinar

Penn State Extension will host a webinar, “Communicating With Farmers Under Stress,” from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Aug. 6, 2024, which is aimed at helping participants recognize signs of stress and provide assistance to farmers.

Targeted at agriculture professionals, loan officers, family members, and concerned citizens, the session will cover how to effectively communicate with and support farmers experiencing stress.

Key topics include:

  • Identifying stressors affecting farmers and their families.
  • Recognizing anxiety symptoms and suicide warning signs.
  • Assessing, approaching, and assisting farmers with mental health concerns.
  • Accessing local, state, and national resources.

The webinar is free, but registration is required to receive the access link. Registrants will also receive a recording of the program.
